Highlights of Suva

Discover how Suva became the fascinating multicultural and cosmopolitan city that it is today on this Suva highlights tour. Ride through a mix of colonial and modern architecture as you visit the Old Parliament House, Nasonini Battery Gun Historical Site, a local farmers market, the Fiji Museum, and Thurston Gardens.

Your tour beings with a scenic drive out to the Old Parliament House. This art deco style building is decorated with beautiful artwork throughout. Then head over to the Battery Gun Historical Site at Nasonini. Designated as a WWII Heritage site, this area was used during WWII to guard safe passage into the Suva Harbor. The guns used at the site, since removed by the government, were the biggest military guns available at that time.

Pass by the University of the South Pacific as you make your way through the scenic town of Nausori. Visit Fiji's first sugar and rice mill, built in 1872 following the collapse of the cotton industry. While in Nausori check out many exotic fruits and vegetables at the local market.

Take a photo of the statue of Fiji statesman and WWI hero Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna in front of the government buildings after a scenic drive through Suva City.

Enjoy a relaxing walk through a myriad of trees at Thurston Gardens. Created on the grounds where the original village of Suva once stood, these gardens contain 20 types of ornamental trees and 17 types of palms.
